August 2025 - Chugging Along

We’re gonna keep this one brief, because we’re very busy drafting new material!! (And trying not to look at the calendar as our self-imposed November 1st Have-A-Sloppy-First-Draft deadline approaches.)
Here’s what we’ve been working on:
Through the second half of July to the end of August, we’ve drafted two new important Act II songs:
Someone to Someone, a solo where (without spoiling anything,) Sue makes a big decision and reflects on what really matters in her life.
Because it’s so new, we haven’t had the opportunity to record a demo for this song. BUT that means you get to hear something even more special: a first draft demo! We don’t have this song up on any platforms yet, so you’re the first one to hear it!!
Sound Bad Together, another crucial decision song. This one’s from the point of view of Hijinx and Disco-Tech, a trio of karaoke robots. This number is big, loud, and sounds… bad. But it a good way. Promise.
We also went on a mini “writing retreat,” aka posted up at a local library with coffee and donuts to do some housekeeping and drafting.
We also tried to not count any chickens before they hatched. Buuuuuuuuuut (and you didn’t hear this from us🤭) Hijinx & Sue made it to the semi-finals round for a very cool opportunity. We’ll keep you updated when we’re able to share more!
Here’s what we’re currently working on:
An untitled duet between Hijinx & Sue that takes place towards the end of the show. This song is meant to really tie the whole thing together. So no pressure.
Drafting the climax of the script
And here’s what we’re making other people do for us!

We’ve been so fortunate to work with Liv this summer on some redesigns for our characters.
